Being the first one to do a task in any field makes the achievement even more special. The first lady Railway Minister of India, first lady Chief Minister of West Bengal, considered as one of the most honest politicians, Mamata Banerjee is truly a trendsetter in the Indian politics. Simple in outlook but persevere, remained single throughout her life, a self-taught painter and poet, often regarded as “Didi” by the media because of her social behavior towards the people and issues. West Bengal is seeing new landmarks and swiftly creating new under her leadership.
She founded the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in 1997 and became its chairperson, after separation from the Congress. Her party defeated the 34-year old Communist Party of India, until then the world's longest-serving democratically-elected communist government. She started her political career in the Congress party as a young woman in the 1970s. In the 1984 election, she became one of India's youngest parliament members ever, beating veteran Communist politician Somnath Chatterjee, from the Jadavpur, West Bengal. She also served as the first woman Railway Minister of India, Minister of Coal, and Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and Women and Child Development in the cabinet.
She is known well for her efforts in the welfare of women and society, Women’s Reservation Bill being a wide known. She also played an active role n the rollback of the petrol price hikes and the suspension of FDI in Retail Sector. She graduated with an honours degree in History from the Jogamaya Devi College, Kolkata.  Later she completed her master's degree in Islamic History from the University of Calcutta. She also earned a law degree from the Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College, Kolkata.
She got worldwide recognition when Bill Gates, of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on 16 February 2012, sent a letter to the West Bengal government praising her administration for achieving a full year without any reported cases of polio, this was not only a milestone for West Bengal but India also. In 2012, Time magazine named her as "100 Most influential People in the World". In 2012 Bloomberg magazine listed her among the 50 most influential people in the world of finance. She was also voted as India's most honest politician in an internal poll by members of India Against Corruption in 2013.

She attributed the increasing incidence of rape in the country to "more free interaction between men and women". She said, “Earlier if men and women would hold hands, they would get caught by parents and reprimanded but now everything is so open. It’s like an open market with open options.” She was criticized in the national media for these statements. She also drew criticism due to her various actions. Ambikesh Mahapatra, a professor was assaulted, arrested and forced to spend a night in police custody for allegedly circulating 'defamatory' cartoons of Mamata Banerjee. The attackers were arrested on the next day and they were released on bail. Due to these incidents, some publications characterized Mamata Banerjee as "Dictatorial" and her rule as "Mamata's growing dictatorship".

After becoming the Chief Minister of UP, he undertook many tasks for the welfare of people. He distributed laptops and study equipments to students and various items to the needy.

His government faced public  outrage and criticism from other political parties during the Durga Shakti Nagpal case, where an Indian Administrative Services(IAS) officer was sacked by his government because she ordered the demolition of an illegal mosque wall;her suspension was revoked after two months. The 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots in 27 August 2013,where 43 people died and 93 injured, due to communal clashes between Muslim and Jat communities, was another serious setback to his government where a curfew had to be called.

He never won a Lok Sabha seat although, according to the BBC, “he has enjoyed massive popular support, not least because he was seen by many as a clean politician untouched by the taint of corruption that has run through many Indian administrations."

Dr. Manmohan Singh has always been regarded as a man of few words. The Independent described him as "a man of uncommon decency and grace”. One of the most eminent writer Khushwant Singh in his book Absolute Khushwant: The Low-Down on Life, Death and Most things In-between regarded him as the best prime minister India has ever had. What do I call a person who can't take his decisions until 10 Janpath gives instructions.” In recent times, his Government has been criticized for having been accused of various corruption scandals including  2G spectrum scam and Indian coal allocation scam.

During his years in RSS he came in touch with Vasant Gajendragadkar and Nathalal Jaghda, leaders of Jan Sangh.Modi remained a campaigner in the RSS while he completed his Master’s degree in political science from Gujarat University. The RSS assigned Modi to BJP in 1985.While Keshubhai Patel and Shankarsingh Vaghela were established names in Gujarat BJP at that time,Modi rose to prominence after organising Murili Manohar Joshi’s Ekta Yatra. His electoral strategy was central to BJP’s victory in the 1995 state elections.Modi became general secretary of the BJP and was transferred to New Delhi for the party’s activities in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. After Vaghela, who had threatened to break away from BJP in 1995,defected from the BJP after he lost the 1996 Lok Sabha elections,Modi was promoted to the post of National Secretary of the BJP in 1998.While selecting candidate for the 1998 state elections in Gujarat,Modi favoured people who were loyal to Patel over those who were loyal to Vaghela, helping to put an end to the factional divisions within the party. His strategies were credited as being key to winning the 1998 elections.
In 2001,Keshubhai Patel’s health was falling, and the BJP had lost seats in the by-elections.Allegations of abuse of power, corruption and poor administration were being made ,and Patel’s standing had been damaged by his administration’s handling of the Bhuj Earthquake of 2001.As a result,BJP’s national leadership sought a new candidate for the office of chief minister, and Modi, who had aired his misgivings about Patel’s administration, was chosen as a replacement.L.K. Advani,a senior leader of BJP,however, did not want to ostracise Patel and was worried about Modi’s lack of experience in governance. However,Modi declined an offer to be Patel’s deputy chief minister, informing Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee that he was “going to be fully responsible for Gujarat or not at all”,and on & October 2001,Modi was appointed the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

In July 2007,he became the longest serving Chief Minister in Gujarat’s history,at which point he had been in power for 2063 days continuously. He is currently serving his fourth consecutive term as Chief Minister.Modi is a member of RSS and is described as a Hindu nationalist by media, scholars and himself. He is a controversial figure both in India and Internationally. His administration has been criticised for the instincts surrounding the 2002 Gujarat violence. He has been praised for his economic policies, which are credited with creating an environment for a high rate of economic growth in Gujarat. However, his administration has also been criticised for failing to make a significant positive impact upon the human development of the state.
